Desipundit no more | Oct 16th 2006

Anyone remember blog melas? Go read some old ones to know how Desipundit changed the blogosphere. I do hope Pat is doing this knowing what Desipundit meant to so many of us, how we logged on every day, how issues like IIPM simply could not have been as big if it were not for Desipundit.

Good Pat and good Ash have decided to shut down Desipundit, and I perfectly understand their decision, including the bit about not letting others run it, for why would Pat and Ash want to see their creation be run in a manner they may not like later?

Saket, a Desipundit contributor, says he’ll launch a Desipundit style blog in a new platform. Which is like the best Indian tradition of knowledge being passed on from generation to generation :)

To Patrix and all contributors of Desipundit, a big but a small thank you.

  2. DesiPundit had done its job. Yes emotionally we might feel the loss. But I think Patrix and his gang have taken the right decision.

  6. I have not been following blogs actively for sometime and was not aware of this one. Hmm, I had stopped reading Desipundit too for a while but really I never thought they would do a vanishing act!

  7. As you must have guessed from the comments here and elsewhere, everyone moves on and I guess to expect something to last forever is ..hmmm. Although many are disappointed, bloggers are known to move on quickly and this shall pass too.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts though. I’ll be still around, like it or not :)

  8. got my initial readers. They were kind enough to link to a number of my posts regularly - and readership grew - pretty soon, I had my own blogger community, and I was, and am revelling in it.
